| Well, I am sorry that this thread had to start out this way, but so be it.
Number one: As I announced nearly three months ago, the crossbow skin was for one of my independent games. It was a game which I halfway completed and ditched. I created the game with the Torque engine and I have the final dts file (the final model + skin for Torque) It was about a suburban town that was overrun by sewer creatures from the medieval ages. The creatures used crossbows that fired explosive arrows at citizens. The creatures were part of an organization, like all others were hoping to make the downfall of mankind. The organization was represented by a leader, who was stranglely known as "W".
The weapons have a "W" emblem on them because they are enemy weapons. Upon my joining RMT, even though the model was in an unusable dts format (haven't had the chance to look for conversion software for dts's) I thought the skin would be usable.
Where did this rumor even come from? The skin looks nothing like WoW.
Number two:
System specs on my pc: 2.4 gh proc. 128 mg of RAM Intel Basic Chipset (yes, that is an actual graphics card) Internet 26K dial up
Yeah, I can definitely play WoW with that, huh?
IN conclusion, I did not steal from WoW and I never will. In fact, I just made our wood and metal skins, but I am unwilling to show them until this crap ends.
Do not worry Zoxin and others, I have plans for this thread to deal with actual skinning so please leave it in its place.

| Yes Noxstant, a guy named "W", shaped like the WoW logo, who carves his name on all his weapons. He carves it microscopically, you prolly can't even see it in-game... It's clearly a watermark to get bastards like you to not steal their shit. And what do you do? You go ahead and steal it...
Stupidity runs around this forum faster than wildfire, it seems.

| To everyone who accused me, you deserve an epic fail.
Number one : I do have friends who play wow, but they say there is no crossbow in wow.
Number two : Those skins were from 3 months ago and were premade for another game and were for the general idea and my acceptance into the team
Number three : Limesauce just owned every five year old on this site.
Thinking about putting this whole thing on fail blog, (in cause you haven't heard, there is no crossbow ON WOW!)

| Thank you for showing them the light, Zoxin. No that this is dropped, I hope this does not hinder my relations with any of you. Well, mano, my friends are not too obsessed with WoW. BUT THE W is part of the skin not the picture! I also heard WoW does not have their label on weapons! I also don't think this matches any of them! To prove that I can skin here is my wood skin : | |

| Everyone relax for a few days... then grunt will be unbanned. (5 day ban).
And HDoan too (10 day ban).
I think HDoan is the most pissed... but that's just because he wanted to "win" the debate last night. He wouldn't let me go to bed until I admitted he "won."
Which he clearly did not.

| By that you mean the GIMP? Yes.
I did start with a basic, but it was kind of a brown blob with black lining. I gave it a more deceased plant like layout, and altered the lining a bit as well as the brightness. I wanted it to look more like the wood used in RS (maybe alpine?)
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I skin most of everything by starting with basic textures then modifying that to create what I am looking for. Since I am not Picasso, I can't just draw something on a piece of paper, but I have found that my method is perfectly fine.
If you are wondering, for the crossbow I used basics but added definition painfully inch by inch. I did create the bolt and rubber structures from scratch with some tinkering with the Gimp's many design tools.
So, do you want it or not, doompig? I have a silver and gold metal texture also. In the size and file you specified.

| Wow, I just looked at the link to google images.
PERCEPTION FAIL! The crossbow on google show ones that are very basic and use an entirely different mechanism of launch. Those crossbows fire much like a standard bow, while mine fires with a sort of slingshot mechanism, just look at the pictures!
WoW - standard mechanism
My game - flinging mechanism with many parts
This is the omega for this discussion and you know it.
However, since doompig will deny anything I say, I might just take a snapshot of my damn game and post it here. Dammit, I will do that now!
