| Since Maarten is the go to man for Halo trivia, and since I've been pounding him with questions, I 'm making this thread.
If you have any questions about the physics of halo or anything else, ask away.
Or if someone wants to attempt to pound me with questions, go right ahead.

| All right. I'll start with something basic.
When making a custom model for Halo CE, what should you name your model before you link it to the frame gun node?

| Well, what a suprise, it's doompig!!
I didn't see you jump towards maarten's Q&A!
Too much emphasis on the trial mods!
Seriously though, when you create a model for CE, (and apply it to an existing gun -lazy!) it can depend on the application you are using (gmax or mm3d)
For the most part, I would first make my attachments lightwave object files and after skin is added, create overall BMP or Gfx file and then patch it into the bitmap file of a map on halo (just like you did with Zapwinder)

| Assuming all ship borne MAC systems have the same muzzle velocity as the Mk.5 Orbital Mac stations (4/10 of lightspeed) what would the the poweroutput per coil need to be for a 6000 Ton Round to reach that velocity if the MAC has 17 coils.
And a bit simpler one I think. IF a 6000 Ton Round from a MAC hits a Target at 4/10 of the speed of light what would be the force it exerts on the target in NEWTONS. WHat is the amount of Energy transferred into the target in Joules (Kilo, mega, giga, tera doesnt matter)
Just felt like messing with you, nox

Well let's see.. (4/10)(180,000 mi sec2) "288,000 km sec2" = 72,000 mi sec2 "115,200 km sec2" A 6000 ton round = [(12,000 total pounds) + (Ke = 1/2 mv2) "v= m/d" "d = 5 grams3" = 297,461 joules. 72,000 mi sec2 x (297, 461 joules/1 mi sec2) = 2.14 X 10(10) joules overall energy required. 2.14 x 10(10) /17 coils = 1.25 x 10(9) joules of energy required per coil or 1.25 giga joules per coil. Wow, look at all that text! Question Number 2: - Quote :
- IF a 6000 Ton Round from a MAC hits a Target at 4/10 of the speed of light what would be the force it exerts on the target in NEWTONS. WHat is the amount of Energy transferred into the target in Joules (Kilo, mega, giga, tera doesnt matter)
Since I have worked out the first one, this one will be a cakewalk. 297,461 joules = 297,461 N sec2- (Since the newton was created to correspond to one joule so easier conversions could be made to the force exerted on a mass) Newton's first law explains why the object (MAC round) in space would keep constant momentum and velocity. Since the mass isn't that close to the speed of light, no changes in mass would occur. So that makes the amount of energy in joules exerted on a ship : 12.5 giga joules (1.25 x 10(10)] OWNED - hey, I could probably make use of this information on something.......

Sorry, hellsmadcamper, I don't use maya. I use MM3d and gmax (much more practical) If you want to download a trial of milkshape 3d (fairly decent obj model exporter though not designed specifically for halo), here is a link : http://swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/Or you could download gmax (find it at the filefront website)

I was also referring to this thread.

| The airbone velocity for an unladed Swallow is approximately 10 meters per second.
A swallow could carry and swallow a coconut if :
- The coconut was shattered into pieces
- the coconut was part of a drink
- if the starship enterprise beamed it into its stomach

| Well, if you are talking about being stuck on an island without a hammer (or C4, always C4) Then you could drop a large boulder on the coconut. | |

| taht movie was my favoite of all movies...
But I HAVE A QUESTION... Trust me, this one is hard.
1.what is the force in Newtons of 58.14 kg of compressed C-16 (compression ratio 187%)in a soild lead cylinder(closed in one end[where the explosives are]) with a (length 5m long) (inner circ. of 1.086 meters) in space?
2. If there was 30.31 Kg bullet (circumference of 1.08581 m)inside the cylinder with the c-16 when the c-16 exploded, and the bullet left the tube what would the force of the impact of the bullet against another object?
3.what would its terminal velocity be?
4.What would its initial velocity be?
5.How long would it take it to leave the tube and stike a object 100 meters away?
Figure this out, and you will be my hero!

| Good luck finding an engine to input these specifications. Physics simulator?
Here is the data (large inhale)
1. A lot of unnecessary information.
Force = MA
F = 58.14kg (x)
(X) = 187% compression ratio x standard blast force (270,000 joules - as discovered by me) + 4/10 of light speed (72,000 mi sec 2) =
774,900 joules of force + [ 72,000 x 58.14] 4,960,980
That means 4,960,980 N-1 mi sec2 or 4.9 x 10(6)
2 - 5
I hate to tell you this, but there is a gaping hole in question number 2.
Newton's laws of motion state that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
The bullet with the c-16 would most likely be ionized by the intense heat, but if it was massive enough, the compression of the canister would become too great and a massive explosion would take place, destroying half of the ship.
If you find an engine that you can plug things like this in, could you inform me?
Also, if you do, it will be realistic and what I described will most likely occur. (exhale)
